26L Fabric Button Covering Die for Shank Buttons and Snap Caps

This 26L Fabric Button Covering Die is used for the fabric-covering stage of compatible fabric-covered shank buttons and fabric-covered snap caps. It supports cleaner fabric placement around the visible face and helps achieve more even edges, controlled gathering and repeatable results.

The die covers the component with fabric. It does not create a completed snap closure or replace a Snap Setting Die.

Use with Fabric-Covered Snap Buttons

Yes, this die can be used for fabric-covered snap buttons. It is used to cover the outer snap cap with fabric before the snap system is assembled.

It does not install the snap mechanism. Fabric-covered snap buttons have a different fastening and assembly system. The covered cap must be joined to the matching socket and other compatible snap components with a separate Snap Setting Die.

The same 26L or 16 mm / 0.63 in size label does not guarantee complete compatibility. Confirm the cap shape, socket construction, snap system and final setting die separately.

Use with Fabric-Covered Shank Buttons

This die is also used for compatible 26L fabric-covered shank-button blanks. After covering, the finished button has an approximate visible diameter of 16 mm / 0.63 in and is sewn onto the garment or accessory through its rear attachment structure.

Fabric Preparation

The fabric should be cut with enough allowance to wrap around the button blank or snap cap. Fabric cut to the exact visible diameter may not cover the reverse side properly.

Test velvet, stretch fabrics, thick fabrics, textured materials, slippery fabrics and multilayer constructions before repeat production. The material affects the required pressure and the finished appearance.
