A Fabric-Matched Closure for Garments and Textile Products
This 24L fabric-coverable snap fastener allows the visible upper surface of the closure to be coordinated with a garment, bag or textile accessory. Instead of leaving a metal cap visible, the aluminium upper cap can be covered with the customer’s chosen fabric to create a more integrated finish.
The completed cap has an approximate visible diameter of 15 mm / 0.591 in. The working closure uses a 54-system fastening construction. A brass cap back and plastic support washer complete the covered cap assembly, while the stainless socket, stud and post form the opening and closing mechanism.
Finish selection: Select the required finish for the stainless socket, stud and post from the available colour options. This selection applies only to the three lower fastening components. The aluminium upper cap is intended to be covered with the customer’s fabric.

When Is This Snap a Suitable Choice?
- When the visible closure needs to match the fabric of the finished product,
- When an approximately 15 mm / 0.591 in covered cap is required,
- When exposed metal caps would interrupt the design,
- For garments, bags, costumes and textile accessories,
- For sampling, boutique production and customised collections,
- When a package of 100 complete snap sets is required.
Three Different Dies Are Needed
Producing the finished snap involves three separate stages: cutting the fabric, covering the aluminium cap and setting the complete snap onto the textile product. A dedicated die is required for each stage.
- 24L fabric cutting die: Cuts the covering fabric into the required circular form.
- 24L fabric covering die: Forms the fabric around the aluminium cap and joins it with the plastic washer and brass cap back.
- 15 mm / 0.591 in 54-system snap setting die: Sets the prepared covered cap and the three stainless fastening components onto the textile product.
The fabric covering die does not set the completed snap onto the product. The covering die prepares the upper cap only. A separate 54-system snap setting die is required for the final installation.
Compatible Presses and Machines
With a matching die connection, the fabric cutting, covering and snap setting dies can be used with the following equipment:
Each operation requires its corresponding die to be fitted to the press. Before ordering, compare the die thread with the connection used by the selected press or machine.
Recommended Application Sequence
- Cut the selected covering fabric with the 24L fabric cutting die.
- Centre the required fabric pattern over the aluminium cap.
- Place the fabric, aluminium cap, plastic support washer and brass cap back into the covering die in their correct orientations.
- Use the 24L covering die to prepare the finished fabric-covered cap.
- Position the covered cap, socket, stud and post on the textile product.
- Complete the installation with the 15 mm / 0.591 in 54-system snap setting die.
- Test opening, closing and fabric retention before beginning production.
Selection and Application Warnings
- This product uses a 54-system fastening construction. Dies for other snap constructions must not be assumed compatible.
- Do not select the setting die by the 15 mm / 0.591 in cap diameter alone. The fastening construction and cap profile must also match.
- Very thick or rigid fabrics may prevent the edge of the aluminium cap from closing correctly.
- Thin, elastic or loosely woven fabrics may require reinforcement.
- Patterned fabrics should be centred before cutting.
- Begin with low press force and increase it gradually after checking the sample.
- Confirm the selected finish of the three lower components before submitting the order.
Applications
- Jackets, coats and waistcoats

Frequently Asked Questions
How many complete snap sets are included?
The package contains 100 complete fabric-coverable snap fastener sets.
Why does the package contain 600 individual components?
Each complete set contains six components. One hundred sets therefore contain 600 individual components.
Which components form one complete set?
One set contains one aluminium cap, one brass cap back, one plastic support washer, one stainless socket, one stainless stud and one stainless post.
Must the finish of the lower components be selected?
Yes. Select the required finish for the stainless socket, stud and post before ordering.
Does the finish option determine the colour of the upper cap?
No. The finish option applies to the three stainless lower components. The aluminium cap is covered with the customer’s fabric.
Is the covering fabric supplied?
No. The fabric used to cover the aluminium cap must be supplied separately.
How many dies are required?
A 24L fabric cutting die, a 24L fabric covering die and a 15 mm / 0.591 in 54-system snap setting die are required.
Can the fabric covering die complete the final installation?
No. It prepares the fabric-covered cap only. A separate snap setting die is required to attach the snap to the textile product.
Are the dies and press included?
No. The fabric cutting die, covering die, snap setting die and press must be purchased separately.
Which presses can operate the dies?
With a matching die connection, they can be used with a manual hand press, an impact setting machine or a light-duty manual impact press.
Should a sample be completed before production?
Yes. Check fabric thickness, cutting diameter, pattern alignment, component orientation and press force on a sample before production.
