Six Useful Eyelet Sizes, One Ready-to-Work Kit
If you regularly switch between different eyelet sizes, buying and organizing every setting die separately can slow down even a small job. This kit gives you six commonly requested eyelet setting dies in one package, together with a long-handle manual setter. It is a convenient way to start working on samples, repairs, custom pieces and small production runs without investing in a press machine first.
The package includes dies for No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 24 and No. 28 eyelets. Each size is supplied as a complete upper-and-lower setting die set. When matched with the correct eyelet and washer, the dies help keep the parts centered and support a cleaner, more controlled closure.
Please note: This is not a continuous set containing every number between No. 2 and No. 28. It contains only the six sizes listed on this page.
Sizes Included in the Kit
- No. 2: for eyelets with an approximate 4.5–5 mm (0.18–0.20 in) inside diameter
- No. 3: for eyelets with an approximate 5–5.6 mm (0.20–0.22 in) inside diameter
- No. 4: for eyelets with an approximate 6 mm (0.24 in) inside diameter
- No. 5: for eyelets with an approximate 8–8.5 mm (0.31–0.33 in) inside diameter
- No. 24: for eyelets with an approximate 9.5 mm (0.37 in) inside diameter
- No. 28: for eyelets with an approximate 13 mm (0.51 in) inside diameter
- Long-handle hand setter: holds compatible upper and lower dies for manual hammer setting
Total package contents: Six complete eyelet setting die sets and one long-handle hand setter.
Start Setting Eyelets Without Buying a Press
The included long-handle setter is especially useful when you are making samples, repairing finished products or installing only a small number of eyelets at a time. Fit the matching upper and lower dies, place the eyelet and washer correctly, then apply straight, controlled hammer strikes on a firm and level work surface.
This makes the kit a helpful choice for bag makers, leatherworkers, costume and apparel studios, footwear workshops, curtain makers, crafters and repair businesses. It can be used for compatible eyelet applications on fabric, leather, faux leather, canvas, bags, footwear, curtains, banners, tarps and similar materials.
We always recommend making the first setting on a scrap piece of the actual material. This lets you check the hole size and striking force before working on the finished item. An angled or overly forceful strike can crush the eyelet, roll the barrel unevenly, move the washer or mark the material.
Setting Dies Do Not Make the Hole
The six dies included in this kit are standard setting dies. Their job is to join a compatible eyelet and washer after the material has been prepared. They do not punch the installation hole.
A hole that is too small may stretch or damage the material. A hole that is too large may prevent the eyelet from holding securely. If you also need to prepare the material, explore our grommet punching dies and hole punch tools.
Important distinction: The No. 28 die included in this kit is a standard setting die. It should not be confused with a self-piercing No. 28 die.
How to Choose Compatible Eyelets
An eyelet number or inside diameter alone does not guarantee a correct match. Eyelets carrying the same number can still differ in barrel diameter, barrel height, cap profile, washer shape and material. All of these details affect how the die supports and closes the eyelet.
For that reason, compare the actual eyelet construction rather than relying only on the size name. You can browse compatible options in our eyelets and grommets category.
If you are not sure which eyelet works with your die, there is no need to guess. Send us a clear photo and the inside diameter, outside diameter and barrel measurements. We will be happy to help you check the match before you place your order.
Manual Setting for Small Jobs, Press Setting for Production
The long-handle setter is a practical solution for samples, crafts, repairs and occasional small runs. If you install eyelets throughout the day, a compatible hand press can provide faster operation and more repeatable pressure.
If you later decide to use these dies with a press, check the machine’s die mounting point and thread pattern first. The eyelet size and the die connection are two different specifications. A die may match your eyelet but still have the wrong thread for your machine.
Machines commonly used in Türkiye are generally supplied with the locally selected connection by default. If your press was manufactured outside Türkiye, an M6 connection may be required. International customers who are unsure are welcome to send us the machine model and a clear photo of the mounting point. We would much rather help you confirm it before ordering than leave you with a die that does not fit.
A Tool System You Can Expand Over Time
This kit does not have to be the end of your setup. The hand setter or press can be used with other technically compatible application dies. As your work grows, you may add different eyelet sizes or compatible dies for snap fasteners, rivets, jeans buttons and fabric-covered buttons.
This means you can build a broader fastening setup over time instead of replacing the entire system whenever a new project arrives. Always check the application type, die dimensions and mounting thread before adding a new die.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pieces are included in the kit?
The package includes six complete eyelet setting die sets and one long-handle hand setter, for a total of seven pieces.
Does the kit include every size from No. 2 through No. 28?
No. It includes only No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 24 and No. 28 setting dies.
Are eyelets and washers included?
No. The package contains setting equipment only. Compatible eyelets and washers must be ordered separately.
Do I need a hand press to use this kit?
No. The included long-handle tool allows manual hammer setting for samples, repairs and small runs. A compatible press is recommended for frequent or higher-volume work.
Do the dies punch holes in the material?
No. These are standard setting dies used to join an eyelet and washer. A separate hole punch or punching die is required to prepare the material.
Will the dies fit every eyelet with the same size number?
Not necessarily. The inside diameter, barrel diameter, barrel height, cap shape, washer construction and eyelet material must be checked together.
Can the dies be used with a press made outside Türkiye?
Compatibility depends on the press mounting point and thread pattern. Some international machines require an M6 connection. Contact us with the machine model and a photo of the mounting point if you need help confirming compatibility.
Can I add other dies later?
Yes. You can expand the setup with other technically compatible dies for eyelets, snap fasteners, rivets, jeans buttons or fabric-covered buttons. The die system, dimensions and mounting thread must be checked before ordering.
